Review by hotel critic
Pousada Tiradentes, while boasting a prime location near Tiradentes Square and the Inconfidência Mineira museum, unfortunately left much to be desired during my recent stay. The stunning views from the room balcony were a silver lining, offering a picturesque setting to start the day, but the charm quickly faded with the state of the accommodations. Despite the bright, rustic aesthetic, the cleanliness was lacking, which is a concern for any traveler, especially for those of us who appreciate meticulous surroundings. Breakfast was rather disappointing, featuring stale bread and subpar coffee - a stark contrast to the vibrant culinary scene I usually enjoy exploring in Europe. On top of this, the payment process left a sour taste; The reluctance to accept credit cards and the insistence on a cash-only transaction at checkout turned a hopeful experience into a frustrating ordeal. If you're in the region, the charm of Tiradentes and its surroundings is undeniable, but this pousada may best be left off your itinerary.
